1. Description

Soy Wax Candles Wax S40 is a hydrogenated vegetable-based wax, made primarily from hydrogenated soybean oil, and designed specifically for candle making. It is solid in form, almost odourless, and provides a stable, clean-burning base for container candles.

This wax melts smoothly, is easy to handle, and is valued for its consistent performance and natural vegetable origin. It is made from renewable plant-based sources and is not regarded as a health or environmental hazard under current legislation.

2. Technical Specifications & Candle Use

Note: These guidelines are based on physical data. Always test fragrance loads, colours, and wick combinations in your own environment.

Preparation

Work on a stable, protected surface. Secure wicks firmly in containers.
Mark a maximum fill line to avoid overfilling.

Step 1 – Melting

Melt wax gently using a bain-marie or double boiler.
Do not expose directly to high heat.

Heat to about 60℃–70℃ until fully liquid.
Avoid overheating, as excessive heat may affect performance and safety.

Step 2 – Adding Colour and Fragrance

Allow wax to cool slightly.
Add fragrance at around 55℃–60℃ and stir gently for at least one minute.

If adding colour, add before fragrance to ensure even blending.

Step 3 – Pouring

Pour at approximately 50℃–55℃.
Wax should be clear and fluid, not cloudy or thick.

Leave 1–2 cm at the top for topping up.
Keep containers at room temperature.

Step 4 – Curing & Topping Up

Allow candles to set for at least 12 hours.
Reheat leftover wax to about 55℃ for topping.

Top up to final fill line.
Allow candles to cure for 10–14 days before burning.

3. Care and Caution

• When heated or in case of fire, irritating vapours/gases such as carbon monoxide may form.
• Wear cold insulating gloves and eye/face protection when handling hot wax.
• Work in a well-ventilated area.
• Avoid contact with polished, painted, plastic, or leather surfaces.
• Store out of reach of children and pets.
• Individuals with fragrance sensitivity should use with care.
• Always label candles with safety warning labels.
