Soy candles are made from oil that comes from the skin of soybeans. It's petroleum-free; natural and biodegradable. Paraffin candles are made from the dregs from oil refineries. 
When burning, soy candles emit no toxins Paraffin candles are known to emit 11 documented toxins when burning, of which 4 are carcinogenic. (tolulene, formaldehyde, acrolein and benzene)
They contain natural vitamin E and lecithin which has amazing benefits when rubbing into the skin.  Paraffin candle wax cannot be used as a skin moisturizer. 
They are 99% soot free, meaning there is no black smoke when burning.  There is soot when burning and can leave black smoke marks on walls and ceilings.

Soy candles melt at a very low temperature: 2 degrees above body body temperature (39C), which has the following benefits: 

- it is the right temperature to rub onto your skin

- it burns 75 - 100% longer than paraffin candles

Paraffin candles melt at 72C resulting in a quicker burn.

The leave practically no waste, burning evenly and all the way down. You will have a recyclable container available once the candle is finished.

They often burn unevenly.
